You Can Be a Researcher as an Undergraduate—and Not Just in a Science Lab
Participating in research is a great way to expand your learning experience. At Washington U., research isn’t just for faculty and graduate students, and it’s not restricted to science. No matter what you’re studying, you can find research opportunities that will add meaning, depth, and accomplishment to your undergraduate education. You can link up with an established research program, such as the Summer Scholars Program in Biology and Biomedical Research offered before your first semester; pursue a research project in your major, such as Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities; work on group projects or one-on-one with faculty in almost any school or department.
Office of Undergraduate Research
The Office of Undergraduate Research was formed to match WU students with research opportunities. The Office of Undergradauate Research helps place interested students in research positions and promotes the student researchers findings. Students from all academic areas can search an online database of available research opportunities. Research topics range from biomedical engineering, to environmental studies, to art history.
