Washington University has a beautiful campus located in a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood seven miles west of downtown St. Louis. And the university is committed to applying the principles of sustainability to our operations.
Libraries, books, and online resources are essential to your undergraduate education. We maintain a multifaceted library system with more than 4.3 million books, periodical volumes, audiovisual titles, and government publications, plus extensive collections of literary manuscripts, rare books, and other materials. Through University Libraries, undergraduates have online access to thousands of databases, electronic journals, and other digital resources. Our 12 libraries put comfortable study and collaborative spaces within easy reach. Expert research assistance is available online or in person.
We’re wired, wireless, and virtual. Portable computing devices move easily across campus with wireless voice and data service in common spaces, libraries, residential buildings, and many academic spaces. Common computing services— like printing and email — and access to many software programs are available anywhere on the network. Numerous computing labs provide spaces to gather, connect, and work together.
Students have access to a wide collection of web-based communication tools and workspaces that enable connections with each other and with faculty. Faculty supplement classroom time with online video, research, and virtual workgroups. The web and mobile-friendly services offer you access to campus maps, course offerings, course registration, grade inquiry, and more.
You can also enjoy the cultural resources on campus, including the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, one of the nation’s finest university art museums; Edison Theatre, the site of professional and student productions; and Assembly Series, a lecture series bringing some of the most important contemporary doers and thinkers to campus.
We also offer a variety of support services.
