The Position
The Summer Internship Program in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is designed to provide a professional experience for current Washington University students. A group of interns will serve as representatives of the University in addition to working on group projects throughout the summer. The projects will address specific needs of the Undergraduate Admissions Office and will be designed to challenge the students while aiding the Admissions Office in its recruitment efforts.
The job responsibilities for the Summer Interns will include:
- Leading daily tours of the campus
- Co-presenting Information Sessions with an Admissions Officer
- Conducting daily interviews with prospective students
- Completing group projects and presenting their findings
- Assisting with office work
- Other duties as assigned
The Requirements
Applicants must be Washington University undergraduate students; any academic background is acceptable, strong communication skills are required, and an interest in Admissions or Student Services is preferred. Applicants should be available to work Wednesday, May 20– Friday, August 21 (there is flexibility for summer school and vacations). The workweek will be about 35 hours in duration, including two or three Saturday mornings per month. This schedule is subject to change. Compensation is $10.00 per hour. (Housing is not included.)
