Transfer Student Scholarships

Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholarship

Each year, the Washington University Women’s Society sponsors a small number of two-year, full-tuition scholarships to students transferring from the St. Louis Community College system.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • Submit a complete application for transfer admission as a full-time student in 2019 to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions no later than March 15, 2019
  • Have a record of high academic achievement
  • Be in the process of completing 60 transferable credit hours from one of the St. Louis Community College branches

In late March or early April of each year, the scholarship committee will interview finalists and also consider the following:

  • Level of commitment to academic achievement
  • Enthusiasm for learning
  • Clarity of goals—short- and long-term
  • Potential for leadership
  • Dedication to community service

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Washington University annually awards a limited number of renewable scholarships to members of the Phi Theta Kappa (International Honorary of the Two Year College) transferring from two-year institutions.

The requirements for applying for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Completed application for the Washington University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
  • Documented membership in Phi Theta Kappa
  • Completed two-year college program in the semester previous to the semester of entry at Washington University
  • Minimum GPA 3.5
  • No previous bachelor’s degree
  • Completed Washington University application for transfer admission
  • Completed Washington University Family Financial Profile (FFP)
  • Completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid)
  • Demonstrated financial need based on the above forms

To be considered, all materials must be submitted no later than March 15, 2019.
