You'll create innovative and beautiful solutions

Develop skills that apply not only to the fields of architecture and design, but also to art, business, science, technology, social studies, literature, and the environment. Interdisciplinary in nature, architecture draws from various bases of knowledge and requires collaboration with other fields.

Our four-year undergraduate degree programs lead to either a Bachelor of Science in Architecture or a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. Both programs prepare you to move on to a master’s degree, putting you on track for teaching and leadership positions in architecture and related fields.

You'll grow intellectually, creatively, and personally

To be an artist or designer is to be a thinker, an information synthesizer, a problem solver. That's why we offer professional art education in a challenging academic setting. It's a great environment for our students to grow wholly.

Our four-year undergraduate degree programs lead to either a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art, Communication Design, or Fashion Design or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art or Design. Graduates from our program pursue varied occupations—from studio artist, teacher, and magazine illustrator to art therapist, scenic designer, and television producer.

You delve into the scientific underpinnings of our world and develop research skills to investigate new questions. The largest undergraduate program at Washington University, the College of Arts & Sciences is the center of intellectual life on campus. Of the five undergraduate divisions, Arts & Sciences offers the greatest number and the most diverse range of classes. Almost all undergraduate students take Arts & Sciences courses.

Arts & Sciences graduates can be found in all walks of life. They are entrepreneurs, physicians, executives, teachers, biologists, explorers, filmmakers, and much more. Many graduates go on to become experts in their chosen fields by pursuing a graduate or professional degree program.
