Media and Literary Organizations

Our student literary and media organizations provide a wide range of perspectives and entertainment for a large audience of readers, listeners, and viewers on campus as well as in the larger community.

Many media-based groups are housed in the Angel & Paul Harvey Media Center within the Danforth University Center on campus. This state-of-the-art facility provides a gathering place and resources for these creative groups.

Student Life

Student Life, one of the nation’s oldest college newspapers, publishes two days per week (Monday and Thursday) during the academic year. Hundreds of WashU students contribute to Student Life every year.

WUTV

WUTV is Washington University's student run television station. WUTV provides a venue that allows for the education and advancement of students seeking hands-on experience in broadcast and related industries, as well as students who simply have an interest in TV.

WUTV provides an informational and entertainment venue for the student body of Washington University through original student programming and coverage of campus events viewable for free through campus cable.

KWUR

KWUR is a student-run, commercial-free radio station. Broadcasting at 90.3 FM and available online with live streaming through the KWUR website, the station delivers musical programming, campus news, and student talk shows to the WashU community. KWUR is one of the few fully student-managed college radio stations in the country.

Kuumba TV

Kuumba TV was conceived out of a desire to unite the creative community on WashU's campus through visual stories — each story delving into a student’s work and their creative process.

From the beginning, Kuumba has been a "community project," one that is fueled by and in turn fuels creativity on campus.

As a site, Kuumba encompasses several different facets — dynamic video profiles, a blog to showcase the latest creative ventures of students, and original media offering a special look into our peers’ creative endeavors and projects.

Kuumba links people together and builds platforms for new collaborations and new creative energy.
